Birstall Messy Church finished its first "term" with a Barbeque and open-air games session at St James' church. It was great to see families spread out on the lawn, children playing happily. Nick and Zuse did a fantastic job with the barbeque (many thanks to Michael's butchers for a great deal on the meat) and Dorothy had made lots of jelly to go with the icecream.
After some parachute games (thanks to Girls' Brigade for loan of equipment) we sat on top of the parachute for the story of the feeding of the 5000 before finishing with the Messy Grace.

Our youngest Messy Churches gets unceremoniously shoved under the table during teatime!
